Freeze Protection for your Solar Water Heater:

We all know the weakest link in the solar water heater is the freeze valve.  We got tired of waiting for someone else to address this issue so we have done it ourselves!  We have designed, built, tested, and patented an electronic freeze protection device that will never let your collector be damaged in the cold.  It removes the freeze valve from your system so you never have to worry about failure, leaking, or replacement.  Here's how it works:

The Solar Collector Freeze Protection with Differential Control (SCFP/D) is the most advanced solar control available for the Florida environment.  Sensors at the collector and at the tank accurately measure the temperature of your collector and the coldest water in your tank.  When the collector gets too cold, the SCFP/D will cycle the circulation pump on for several minutes to warm up all the equipment on your roof then shut itself off.  This process will repeat periodically and automatically until the freeze conditions have passed.  There is no leaking on your roof, no collector rupture when the freeze valve fails to open, and no wasted water, and teh ssytem is designed to last the life of your solar system.  See out tab dedicated to the new SCFP/D! 

Improve the Efficiency of your Solar Water Heater:

Another benefit of the SCFP/D is differential control of the solar system.  FSEC has proved that differentially controlled solar water heating systems have a coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 31% higher than direct PV drive systems.  The advantage to direct PV systems is that they consume no electricity when operating and will work during a power outage.  These advantages come at at the cost of accurate control (the pump will circulate water whenever the sun shines on the PV panel whether there is enough heat available or not) and reliance on freeze valves.  The SCFP/D will most accurately control the entire system for maximum heat gain and efficiency, provide reliable freeze protection, and also prevent overheating of your tank.  Finally, much more thorough analysis of the performance and operation of your solar system can be performed with the SCFP/D.
